This is a self-guided ride. We meet you near the start of the trail, and give you a comprehensive rider briefing before you set off.
Good fitness required. Confident beginner and above skill level required (more for the steeper downhill fire trails).
### BMBA self guided tours and hire require minimum numbers for the day to go ahead. The booking system will send a pending order email confirmation upon your online booking. When minimum bookings are received, bookings/rides will be automatically confirmed. Regardless of whether ride goes ahead or not, you will receive an email from the owner (Sam), the night before your ride to confirm the status and info about the ride and logistics. Rides that do not go ahead will be instantly refunded or you can choose another date and the booking will be moved...whatever suits you best!
ABOUT THE RIDE AND WHATS INCLUDED
Standard Inclusion: Mountain bike hire from Woodford including bike, helmet and maps.
Extra's Inclusion: Glove hire, Puncture kit with spare tube hire.
You can expect your ride experience to last from 2.5 to 3.5 hours.
One of the most popular mountain bike tracks in Australia, “The Oaks” Fire trail has all the elements of a great ride and experience. The trail runs between Woodford and Glenbrook. This ride comes with a 1000m vertical decent, all in the name of fun and good views.
The ride is downhill 80% of the way with a steep final kick as you climb the road out of the National Park to Glenbrook Village. While there is a some solid climbing in the first 11km of the ride, once the helipad is reached , it's one long fun downhill run. Good fitness required.
As the trail winds its way along ridge tops make sure you take the time to have a look around as some excellent views of the lower Blue Mountains can be had. On a clear day you can see all the way to Sydney CBD.
If it's been recently graded, the smooth wide trail allows for a sustained thrilling high speed blast. The icing on the cake is the fantastic optional single track section towards the end, which is one of the best in Sydney.
We meet you with your hire bike at the lower commuter parking station at Woodford train station.
The trail is 28kms long and takes on average 2.5 to 3.5 hours to complete. The track is easily self guided and suitable for average fitness and experience.
At the end of your ride, depending on the logistics of our day, we generally meet you back at Woodford or occasionally Glenbrook (logistics dependant). We will let you know this the night before.

This is not your typical basic bike hire business. This is a premium mobile service that offers you a self guided ride experience. Safety is paramount as obvious by the quality modern equipment used. You are met with your bikes ready to go near the start of the trail/ride. Sam (the owner) spends 30 minutes with you as he personally fits you to the bike and helmet, runs through bike operation, trail information and provides you with some riding skill and technique tips to help you get the most out of yourself, the bike and the trail.
