Our special 3 dive days allow you to experience not 1, not 2 but 3 dives out at the Poor Knights Islands. This means that during the darker months you'll end up doing a dusk/night dive as your third dive.
The Poor Knights Islands Marine Reserve, located approximately 1 hour off the coast of New Zealand are renowned for their stunning marine life and beautiful clear water. And you can see it all with a day trip from Tutukaka.
You'll get to experience two dives in an environment that will take your breath away. But if you think that's all there is to do, think again!
A day trip to the Poor Knights Islands is a great way to spend a hard earned day off. We head out every day that we can for two dives (or snorkel if you would prefer) normally at two different sites unless the first site is worth a second visit.
Don't forget about the tour around the islands which we do during your surface interval between the three dives where you can see the largest sea cave in the southern hemisphere and so much more.
And when you're done with all that? Sit back, relax and enjoy a day out on the water with friends, family or even just on your own.
Our passionate crew will look after you no matter what level of diver you are. We provide rental gear for those who need it, wetsuits and hot showers so that you can stay warm during and after your dives.

Schedule
You will meet at the Tutukaka Marina at 8am in the morning. The boat is located on Pier M (one of the first Piers of the Marina).
If you are hiring gear from us you will meet with the crew and get your gear sized up and loaded onto the boat. If you have your own gear you will load that onto the boat ready for your day.
After a safety briefing you will make your way to the islands around 8.30(ish). It takes approximately 1 hour 15min to get to your first site for the day.
The Skipper will pick a suitable site for the first dive/snorkel.
After the first dive/snorkel, and while you have your lunch, the Skipper will take you on a tiki-tour of the islands, telling you the history and visiting the largest sea cave in the southern hemisphere.
You'll then anchor up to the second site and then third site for your dives/snorkel before heading home.
You will arrive back at the Marina at around 5-5.30pm.

Inclusions & What to Bring
The boat is fully covered from the elements with a toilet. There are hot drinks/water/cup of soups/biscuits/lollies on board but please bring your own lunch and snacks to eat in between dives.
Please bring your togs/towel/reef friendly sunscreen/water bottle and some warm clothes to wear between dives.
If you are hiring gear, we will have all of this on board ready for you to use.
Participant conditions - understanding the risks
As you are embarking on an adventure activity (boat ride, scuba diving, snorkeling, freediving, sightseeing and just being out on the ocean with us) we have to inform you of the risks involved.
The ocean is the ocean and is a moving beast. We rely on local marine forecasts to determine whether it is safe to make the journey with you. However, even in the best of conditions you will be on a vessel moving around on the sea which will create an unstable platform at times. Floors can become slippery and items can be dislodged and move around potentially causing injury. And sometimes the conditions can be different from what is forecast - for better or worse.
As the trips are run outdoors we are also exposed to sudden natural disasters such as, but not limited to Tsunami, Earthquakes, Slips Landslides or Rock Falls, or Volcanic Eruption.
When you are enjoying your in-water activities there are additional risks that you need to be aware of and accept. The risks and hazards include, but are not limited to, sea sickness, sunburn, dehydration, breathing compressed gas, decompression sickness, gas narcosis, marine life, barotrauma, dehydration, ear problems, drowning, air embolism, hyperthermia, hypothermia, malfunctioning equipment all of which can lead to serious injury or even death.
All of our skippers and staff are first aid trained and we have safety and first aid equipment on board including life jackets, EPIRB, first aid kit and Oxygen. However, you will be required to act in a responsible manner, stay within the limits of your dive/freedive training and comfort levels and listen and adhere to all staff briefings and instructions. You will also be responsible for any children under the age of 18 to ensure they act in a responsible manner also.

Meet-Up:
We’ll see you at 7.45am at our dive shop - Dive Now, 11 Marina Drive, Tutukaka.
If you want to park near the boat then this is located on Pier M which is right by the public boat ramp—just take the first right when you hit Marina Road (you’ll spot the Surf Shop on the other side). Drive straight towards the water, and in the left-hand corner, you’ll see a sign for \"L & M Pier Parking.\" Park there or anywhere in the carpark, and you’re set. Our boat, Arrow, is about halfway down the pier on the left. Then make your way back to the Shop (which is right next to Oceans Hotel).

What to Bring:
Our boat is fully covered with a toilet on board. We’ve got hot drinks, water, cup soups, biscuits, and lollies, but don’t forget to bring your own lunch.
Pack your togs, towel, hat, sunnies, water bottle, and some warm clothes to stay comfy between dives. The sun is harsh in NZ so reef friendly sunscreen is recommended (we also have this available at the dive center).
If you’re hiring gear, we’ll have it all ready and waiting for you on the boat.
Weather Watch:
We’ll try to give you a heads-up if the weather’s not playing nice, but if you don’t hear from us, it’s all systems go! If you’re unsure and want to double-check, just give us a ring.
Diving Details:
Don’t forget your dive certification as our crew will need to see it. If you can’t find your cert, no worries! Let us know ahead of time, and we’ll sort it out online before you arrive.
On the Day:
One of our crew will meet you at the shop for check-in. If you’re hiring any gear or tanks, we’ll have everything ready for you.
