At the nominated time on your booking, meet at the Tasmanian Travel and Information Centre (20 Davey Street).

We take a guided scenic drive
through historic Hobart and South Hobart.  This is followed by a brief
stroll past the historic Female Factory for a taste of Tasmania’s convict past and
the tranquil Hobart Rivulet that flows down from Mount wellington and contains
the Platypus.  We also drive past the
Cascade brewery building dating back to 1824 and hear one of its remarkable
stories.



Then we continue our drive through
the lush Eucalyptus forests and the town of Fern tree with its leafy cool
climate gardens before arriving at The Springs.



We get to have free time to take in
stunning views from The Springs Lookout, and see unique Tasmanian vegetation
and sandstone cliffs. Here we can pick up refreshments at the Lost Freight Cafe
and gaze up at the spectacular organ pipes cliffs of Mt Wellington.



David your Guide has studied botany,
geology and water resources at a local university in Hobart and is well able to
explain this unique mountain environment. He has experienced this mountain
since young and has many stories to share.



We return to the Tasmanian Travel and
Information Centre, with further mountain and forest scenery on the way down.
We arrive back in Hobart two hours after the commencement of your tour.  A further stop as close as possible to your
ship is also available for cruise passengers.



(This tour does not include the
summit of Mt Wellington and usually runs on days when vehicles cannot reach the
summit for various reasons.)
